Aitsiniki

Blackfoot Storytelling Event at St. Patrick's Island
August 7-8, 2021

Aitsiniki is the Blackfoot word to describe someone telling a story. Sharing stories is an important part of the Blackfoot culture. Blackfoot Elders have passed down their wisdom and knowledge through the telling of stories that connect us to our this land to our ways of being.

The Calgary Municipal Lands Corporation and Many Chief Tours is proud to present Siksika Ceremonial Knowledge Keeper Kent Ayoungman's tipi camp on St. Patrick's Island in Calgary. Storytellers will share stories about the tipis and Blackfoot summer traditional practices.
